We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Education sector. We have an excellent opportunity for an Estates and Facilities Lead for a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. The role will be to oversee the management and development of the school estate and facilities.
£38,000 - £42,000 + Benefits
Temp to Perm (6 months+) with some flexible working
Assistant Facilities Manager / Estates and Facilities Lead’s Core Duties
* Develop a strategic plan for the school’s estates and facilities
* Identify opportunities for enhancements and renovations
* Oversee the daily management of buildings and grounds, ensuring they are safe and secure
* Monitor all service contracts (inc. cleaning and catering)
* Coordinate maintenance staff and external vendors to do routine repairs and improvements
* Develop a maintenance program to prolong the life of the school’s facilities
* Lead projects from inception to completion (inc. budgeting, planning, and quality control)
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are on time and within budget
* Support in the development of the budget, monitoring expenses and cost-saving opportunities
* Prepare financial reports as required
* Line manage the facilities teams and offer training as required
* Monitor the Health & Safety policy, including Risk Assessment procedures
* Comply with building codes, safety regulations, and other statutory requirements
* Perform regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and emergency drills
* Maintain the upkeep of the school minibuses
Assistant Facilities Manager / Estates and Facilities Lead’s Skills and Experience Required
* Experience in strategic facilities planning, management, and construction project management
* Experience within an educational establishment (highly desirable)
* Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental sustainability practices
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience with budgeting and financial management, plus financial data analysis
* Problem-solving ability and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
