Join the Project Management Office (PMO), a key function within Project Management supporting the management of Programmes / Projects through the application of project management processes, methods and tools. Our mission is to analyse, integrate, and provide quantitative and qualitative data to support discussions and decision-making at the project management level. We play a vital operational role throughout the complete project lifecycle, supporting effective communication and stakeholder management. Our department covers a wide range of functions, including: Programme Management best practice; Project Control and Support; Project Cost Control; Integrated Planning; Risk and Opportunity Management; Resource Management; Configuration & Data Management. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse PMO, giving you exposure to all levels of the management hierarchy and interaction with all areas of the business including key customers. Some of our clients include the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the European Space Agency (ESA). This role provides a genuine opening for personal growth within a team where learning and development are key to our success. This position is ideal for candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in project management or in roles that require project management experience.
Responsibilities
* You will have the opportunity to develop activities that include: Assisting the PMO and Project Managers (PM) in the development and maintenance for the appropriate business management tools, other relevant methodologies, tools, templates, documentation and reporting to support the successful delivery of projects;
* Supporting the Head of PMO on delivery improvement workstreams and PM digitalisation. Maintaining and tailoring processes for Project Management as required by the business and developing / maintaining software tools to support the Business and Information Management Systems;
* Liaising with the PMO, Risk and Integrated Planning Managers to support the implementation of best practice Project and Risk Management across the business;
* Actively working on project plans, issue & change management logs, risk & opportunity registers, project management information & data gathering, milestone tracking & customer and other stakeholder monthly reporting to support the successful delivery of projects.
* Currently studying towards a degree in Business Management or related subject;
* An understanding of Project Management methodologies;
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel;
* Proficiency in the use of Google software;
* Experience of using databases and analysing data is a plus;
* Good written and verbal communication skills;
* Good organisational skills and detail orientated.
* SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
