Mechanical/Steam/HTHW Engineer Location: HMP Swaleside, Brabazon Rd, Eastchurch, Isle of Sheppey ME12 4AX Salary: £36, Contract: Full Time, Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer – Mech/Steam/HTHW to join our team at HMP Swaleside, a Cat B Mens prison.

HMP Swaleside functions like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to operate effectively. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
As an Engineer – Mech/Steam/HTHW, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, and others dedicated to providing a safe environment.

We require candidates with:
* Two years’ experience as a steam boiler operator or similar
* Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
* Familiarity with BG01 safety standards for boilers
* Experience with commercial or industrial steam, heating, and water systems
* Plumber qualification (C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
* BOAS accreditation or equivalent
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Strong organisational and people skills
