Department overview: The Project Management Office (PMO) serves as a centralized hub within the AML IT organization, designed to standardize project management practices, improve efficiency, and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Job Purpose: The Commercial Programme Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of programmes within AML’s IT Commercial (CRM) product portfolio and related commercial systems. This role ensures that delivery follows established methodologies and governance standards, is effectively resourced, and is delivered in line with business expectations across Sales, Marketing, Aftersales and Connected Car. The role is accountable for end-to-end delivery performance including scope, schedule, risks, and financial control (budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting). The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to coordinate delivery, combining structured thinking with a strong results-oriented mindset to drive successful outcomes. The role has line management to the PMO Manager and functional reporting to the Commercial Product Manager. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the full lifecycle of Commercial (CRM) Programmes, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure. Ensure delivery is on time, within scope, and within budget, maintaining a clear focus on business outcomes and customer impact. Apply established PMO governance frameworks, standards, and delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) to ensure consistency, structure, and effective control across all assigned work. Lead cross-functional delivery teams that may include internal staff, contractors, and third-party vendors. Ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities and foster a collaborative, delivery-focused environment across business and IT. Partner with key stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Connected Car and IT to ensure alignment with product direction and business objectives, and manage expectations throughout delivery. Maintain open, transparent communication on progress, risks and outcomes. Proactively identify, assess, and manage delivery risks, dependencies, and issues, escalating appropriately. Develop and execute mitigation strategies to minimise disruption and ensure timely delivery. Plan and coordinate resources across multiple concurrent workstreams, including internal teams and external suppliers. Monitor capacity and ensure effective utilisation across contributors. Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, tools, and practices, contributing to delivery excellence within the Commercial (CRM) product organisation and the PMO. Develop, manage and control programme budgets… including cost tracking, forecasting (EAC/ETC where applicable), variance analysis, and timely escalation of cost pressures. Ensure financial governance, approvals and documentation are maintained. Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and reports to stakeholders, the Commercial Product Manager and the PMO, highlighting progress, risks, decisions, outcomes, and financial position (budget, forecast, variance). Support change management and adoption activities associated with delivered CRM and commercial capabilities, ensuring new solutions are embraced and embedded into business operations. Qualification & Experience: Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or equivalent certification. Project & Programme Management Experience: Proven experience in successfully delivering complex CRM and commercial technology programmes, including cross-functional and cross-organisational coordination. Strong track record managing delivery involving internal resources and external partners/vendors. Structured and Results-Oriented Mindset: Demonstrated ability to manage complexity with a structured, methodical approach while maintaining a strong focus on execution and results. Risk and Issue Management: Strong capability to proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies and issues, developing actionable mitigation strategies and ensuring effective resolution. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working across Sales, Marketing, Aftersales and Connected Car and technical teams, with proven ability to build relationships and align stakeholders with varying interests. Budget and Financial Control: Proven experience building, managing and controlling programme budgets, including forecasting, tracking actuals, managing variances, and ensuring timely escalation and corrective actions. Resource Management: Proven experience coordinating internal and external resources to ensure efficient delivery across concurrent workstreams. Process-Oriented Delivery: Familiarity with structured programme management practices, including governance models, reporting standards, and quality assurance mechanisms. Experience in Digital / CRM Change: Experience delivering IT-enabled change in CRM or customer lifecycle environments, ideally including platform enhancements, integrations, migrations or optimisation.
