Part-Time – 23 hours, Permanent Contract. Salary for this role is £24,531.00 FTE. Work Pattern: Monday – Friday. It is essential for the successful candidate to have a full drivers licence and access to a vehicle.

We use a systems thinking approach to provide demand led support around what matters the most to our service users.
Our Ceredigion Mental Health Floating Support service supports individuals in their homes or temporary accommodation across Ceredigion.
Our Floating Support Workers help prevent homelessness in Ceredigion, providing support to individuals to manage debt, promote health and wellbeing, and empower them to make positive choices.
Developing the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to maintain their homes in the community and achieve positive progression.
Your Day will consist of:
* Managing your own caseload
* Traveling to the people we support’s homes
* Engaging and interacting with the people we support to establish goals to work towards, write up support plans and risk assessments
* Providing advice on finances, health, welfare benefits, housing options and tenancy management skills
* Supporting with housing issues such as rent arrears and applying for grants for white goods
* Working with external agencies, especially Housing Options in Ceredigion and signposting the people we support to the appropriate services suited to their needs
* Helping with the running of group activities, such as cooking on a budget
* Supporting clients to make and accompanying them to appointments such as GP appointments
* Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the confidence, knowledge, and tools they need to manage their home independently, so it is essential that we teach them how and not do it for them.
This is a challenging role and you will be faced with varying needs which can lead to frustrations when there is a lack of understanding of the housing issues the people we support face.
You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental as well as have an awareness of the issues faced by people at risk of homelessness.
Who we are looking for:
* Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills
* Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
* Deal with difficult situations
* Have good listening skills
* Driver’s licence & car use for work is essential
* Knowledge and experience of working with individuals suffering with mental health
* Knowledge and experience of working with homelessness, housing & tenancy related issues
* Knowledge and experience of partnership working
* To be a great Support Worker, you need energy, enthusiasm, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect
* You need to be reliable because people are depending on you
* You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills
You don’t always need previous experience or qualifications.
A good understanding of housing related support and welfare benefits, or awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be useful in the role.
Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days’ annual leave.
