About The Role
At AO, we believe logistics should be fast, accurate, and brilliantly executed — and that starts with having exceptional people controlling our stock and data overnight. As a Stock Controller (Nights), you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operation running smoothly, ensuring every trailer, shipment and stock movement is accounted for with precision.
If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, thrives in a busy environment, and takes real pride in accuracy, this could be the perfect next step for you.
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
Trailer Building & Night Operations
1. Manage end‑to‑end trailer building, ensuring all loads, drivers, routing information and documentation are correct and ready for dispatch.
2. Oversee night‑shift workflows including tranship operations, crew changes, departure tracking and exception handling.
3. Keep systems updated in real‑time to support accurate, on‑time departures.
Additions & System Accuracy
4. Lead the "Additions" process — handling route changes, producing reports and communicating updates across teams.
5. Maintain accuracy across internal systems, ensuring clean, reliable data for the wider operation.
Inbound & Inventory Control
6. Check inbound documentation and assign loads to the correct bays.
7. Use the Goods In Dashboard to process JIT, KLS, HD and Bulk supplier deliveries, escalating discrepancies as needed.
8. Investigate stock issues using our Warehouse Management System (GEAC) — including missing stock, negative balances, order errors and other anomalies.
9. Produce key inventory reports on time and to a high standard.
10. Manage Simba product processes, including inbound checks, investigations and reporting.
Your work will ensure the night operation stays on track and the day team starts every shift with the right information.

A Bit About Us
We may have started small, but we’ve always had very big ideas. We launched in 2000 and we just haven’t stopped; a years’ worth of achievements always seems more like three at AO.
Our customers and now our biggest advocates, and we’ve made millions of them happy. We’ve even launched in new territories throughout Europe. Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves.
But, we’re determined to be the best electrical retailer in Europe, and for that, you need to be driven. We need to be bold enough to try new things, and smart enough to see them through. We need to care about people, and we always like to have a little fun as we do it.
Our Benefits
As an AO employee you can take full advantage of our benefits package. As well as fundamental benefits, like pensions and holidays, we have designed our "AO Perks" to help you out financially, make your work life a little easier or make your home life a lot more fun.
