Support Worker, Abbey House, Derry~Londonderry Apex Housing Association

Abbey House provides supported living accommodation for older persons, offering support and care for up to 12 Housing with Care tenants. It is located in the city centre of Derry~Londonderry. Abbey provides 24-hour staff support services, 365 days a year.
Qualifications and experience required:
* QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, and
* 6 months experience in a formal care/support role working with vulnerable adults, or
* 2 years’ experience in a formal care/support role with previous experience working with vulnerable adults.
Registration requirements:
* Must be currently registered with NISCC, or if new to the sector, must achieve registration within 6 months.
Additional requirements:
* Willingness to work towards completion of QCF Level 2 Health & Social Care.
*Formal care/support may include caring at home (where the carer receives Carers’ Allowance) or voluntary work in a formal setting.
