If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!Client Overview:Loom Talent has partnered with a well-known 3PL provider, renowned for its commitment to delivering top-notch logistics solutions across sectors including FMCG, Retail, E-Commerce & Haulage.The company prides itself on delivering excellent service and is seeking a Transport General Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics to oversee the end-to-end transport function.The Role:As the Transport General Manager, you will oversee multi-site transport operations, managing a team of over 300 employees and a fleet of over 400 vehicles. Responsibilities include:Leading the national planning team of 6 experts.Managing Transport Health & Safety, Driver Training & Risk Assessors.Handling an annual budget of approximately £50m.Ensuring operational compliance, safety, and fleet maintenance across national transport.Optimizing logistics operations through internal synergy and continuous improvement.Implementing best practices and utilizing TMS & Planning platforms effectively.Supporting team development and providing growth opportunities.The Candidate:The ideal candidate will have:A background in Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain (Essential).A CPC National / International qualification (Essential).5+ years of Transport General Management experience within a 3PL, FMCG, or Retail environment (Essential).Experience managing operations with headcount of over 250 and assets over 350 (Essential).Previous budget management of over £40m (Essential).A passion for people development, service excellence, and continuous improvement.Experience dealing with unions (Advantageous).Strong leadership skills and talent development ability (Essential).Lean Six Sigma / Prince2 certifications (Advantageous).Must be able to commute to Northamptonshire 5 days a week (Essential).
