Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Trainer to join our team. The Night Hygiene Trainer is responsible for delivering effective training to the night hygiene team, ensuring colleagues are fully competent in all hygiene practices, CIC card requirements, and site procedures. The role supports high standards of food safety, compliance, and hygiene excellence through structured training and development.
Responsibilities
* Deliver all training for night hygiene colleagues, including refresher training, and task-specific modules.
* Ensure all staff are trained and competent in completing CIC cards accurately and consistently.
* Monitor and assess team members' performance against hygiene standards, providing feedback and further training as required.
* Maintain up-to-date training records in line with site requirements, ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant.
* Support the hygiene management team in embedding a strong food safety and hygiene culture across nights.
* Identify training gaps and proactively schedule sessions to maintain competency levels.
* Work alongside supervisors to ensure training translates into consistent compliance on the shop floor.
* Promote safe systems of work and ensure all activities are carried out in line with health & safety and company policies.
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of hygiene practices within food manufacturing.
* Proven experience in delivering training in a similar environment.
* Good understanding of CIC cards and audit compliance requirements.
* Excellent literacy and PC skills (Microsoft Office, training systems, or similar).
* Ability to engage, coach, and motivate team members.
* Strong attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
* Confident communicator, able to train individuals and groups effectively.
* Flexible and organised, able to manage training priorities around operational needs.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to high standards.
* Professional, supportive, and approachable attitude to coaching others.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.90 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
