Overview
Grade: C scp4 £25,185 to scp6 £25,989 based on 37hrs per week. Contract: Permanent & Fixed Term positions are available across all Units, with hours ranging from 14 to 29.5 per week. A 7% allowance is payable for unsociable hours.

Role
Bolton Council is seeking compassionate Care Assistants for permanent or fixed-term roles across our three residential care homes, Wilfred Geere in Farnworth, Laburnum Lodge in Breightmet and Dove House, Bolton Town Centre. You’ll support residents needing rehabilitation or assessment, helping them regain independence or transition to long-term care.
Responsibilities
* Assist with personal care, help with eating and drinking, and support mobility and comfort.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment; respond to emergencies.
* Contribute to care planning and communicate effectively with individuals with varying needs.
* Work closely with NHS and Local Authority teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
* Adhere to shifts as per a set rolling rota; long shifts are not available.
Currently we have weekly hours ranging from 14hrs to 29.5hrs. Shifts follow a set rolling rota with fixed shift lengths.
Working hours
Dependant on location, earliest start time is 7:15am and latest shift end is 10:00pm.
About You
We’re looking for individuals with work or lived experience in care or a genuine willingness to learn. You must demonstrate kindness, compassion, and respect when supporting residents. Basic computer skills are essential, as you’ll be using digital systems to record and access care information.

* DBS with check of relevant barred list is required for this post.
* This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
