Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioner / Chemotherapy Nurse Trainee
Our Chemotherapy Day Unit is seeking enthusiastic experienced Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioners or Chemotherapy Trainees to join its dedicated multi‑disciplinary team and work in our purpose‑built 20 chair unit at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.
We are looking for experienced nurses with passion and drive who demonstrate specialist clinical expertise and professional knowledge in the delivery of chemotherapy/SACT and are committed to maintaining and improving care for patients and their families who are undergoing chemotherapy/SACT.
Essential responsibilities
* Provide chemotherapy competent care for patients in solid tumour and/or haematology settings.
* Deliver comprehensive nursing support for patients undergoing chemotherapy and supportive care in line with the broad aims of Improving Outcomes Guidance for the delivery of chemotherapy services.
* Mentor, support and develop trainee chemotherapy nurses.
* Support the delivery of the outpatient chemotherapy service.
Qualifications and experience
* Band 5, progressing to Band 6 upon completion of chemotherapy competencies.
* Experience in a haematology and/or oncology setting.
* Previous experience of nursing patients with cancer and palliative care needs.
* Chemotherapy competence / SACT passport.
* Evidence of academic SACT nursing modules.
* PAS experience.
* Nurse prescribing.
* NMC registered.
* Chemotherapy competency assessment.
* Counselling qualification.

* Salary: £32,073 a year (pro rata for part time).
