HGV Technician

Basic Salary: Up to £45,000
Join a leading workshop as a talented HGV Technician, working with modern equipment to service, maintain, and repair heavy goods vehicles to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
• Conduct inspections and pre-MOT checks to ensure vehicles meet legal standards
• Repair and replace worn or defective parts, including brakes, clutches, engines, and transmissions
• Use specialist tools and equipment to accurately pinpoint and fix issues
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
• Keep accurate records of all completed work and report any additional defects
• Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and industry regulations
Skills and Qualifications
• Recognised apprenticeship and technical qualification such as NVQ, VCQ, or SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician in a busy workshop environment
• Strong knowledge of HGV systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical diagnostics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A valid HGV Class 1 or 2 licence would be an advantage but is not essential
• Proactive attitude with a commitment to high standards
