Groundworker – Carlisle
📍 Carlisle | 🕒 Monday–Friday Dayshift | 40–50 Hours per Week
Prime Workforce Solutions (PWS) are currently recruiting experienced Groundworkers on behalf of a well-established Civil Engineering contractor for long-term contract work based in Carlisle.
This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, skilled operatives seeking steady work through to the end of June / beginning of July — with the potential for extension.
The Role
You will be working as part of a civil engineering team delivering infrastructure and groundwork packages. Duties will include:
* Concrete works (including pouring, finishing, and associated groundwork)
* Cabling and troughing
* Excavation and digging
* Laying paving and kerbing
* Tarmac works
* General site groundwork duties as required
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday – Dayshift
* 40–50 hours per week available (depending on site/location)
* Optional Saturday nightshift available (not mandatory)
Requirements
* Valid CSCS Card (desirable)
* Personal Track Safety (PTS) certificate (required for rail-related works)
* CPCS (desirable but not essential)
* Full UK Driving Licence (mandatory)
* Previous experience in civil engineering groundwork
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong awareness of health & safety on site
This role would particularly suit candidates local to Carlisle and surrounding areas.
