Your newpany
Our client, a collaborative and nurturing international firm, is looking for a Technical Claims Handler to join their Professional Indemnity team in Bristol. The team manages high-value and sensitive claims for clients throughout the UK, including solicitors, surveyors, accountants, brokers, engineers, architects, and their insurers.
This role is based in our client's Bristol office (minimum of 2 days per week in the office); however, you will be able to work remotely from home part of the week, as the firm operates a hybrid working policy. You will receive full training and ongoing support.
Your new role
As a Technical Claims Handler, you will join an established and growing team that handles professional indemnity claims made against professionals on an outsourced basis. Working with the Head of Claims and other team members, you will be responsible for a technical caseload of varied professional indemnity claims, ensuring a first-class claims experience for policyholders and accurate reporting to insurers.
You will identify gaps in information and investigate notifications effectively, protecting the insurer and insured's positions. Additionally, you will have opportunities to collaborate with other Claims Handlers and Managers in training and coaching roles.
The team provides significant value to the wider law firm as an internal client through referral instructions to panel solicitors. The claims are diverse, arising from various aspects of a professional's practice, requiring rigorous and accurate assessment of cover, liability, and quantum.

* Extensive experience in claims handling with technical claims knowledge and expertise.
* Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and legal frameworks, including compliance.
* Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult or demanding situations and clients.

Desirable but not essential:
* LLB Law, GDL, ACII, CILEx, or equivalent legal qualifications.
* Experience in relationship management (internal and external).
* Previous experience with case management systems.
What you’ll get in return
Joining a leading international law practice, alongside a competitive salary, you will have access to a wide range of benefits, including the Cycle to Work Scheme, dental and medical insurance, pension protection, gym memberships, and more. The firm's new offices are located in central Bristol.
