Lighting Electrician
Location: Midlands & South East (Working day starts from Long Eaton area, Nottingham)
Salary: £36,401.91 + Benefits

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established facilities maintenance provider, seeking a reliable and experienced Lighting Technician to join their mobile engineering team.
Working alongside an electrician's mate, you'll meet daily around the Long Eaton area, with your working day starting from that point. The role involves travel across the Midlands and South East, and includes one overnight stay per week (or two nights per fortnight) to support wider coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
Planned and reactive maintenance on a range of lighting systems across large-format retail environments
Emergency call-out response and fault diagnostics
Working alongside a lighting mate and representing the business to clients professionally
Ensuring all paperwork, maintenance logs, and service reports are accurately completed
Managing tools, plant hire, and materials in accordance with company procedures
Conducting lighting surveys and advising on non-repairable faults and replacement options
Supporting wider engineering teams as needed and ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience maintaining and repairing a variety of lighting types (LED, fluorescent, low voltage, car park lighting, etc.)
Comfortable working at heights with access equipment
Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Full UK driving licenceDesirable:
IPAF 1b, 3a, 3b certification
Experience in supermarket or retail maintenance environments
Familiarity with lighting layouts, cable types, load balancing, and fault diagnosis
