Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Part Time – September 2026 Stockton-on-Tees (TS18) – £444 per week (pro rata) Vision for Education is looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work in a primary school in the Stockton area. This is a part-time Year 1 Teaching Assistant role, working Monday to Friday during school hours (hours to be confirmed by the school). The successful candidate will provide general classroom support within a Year 1 class, working alongside the class teacher to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing. The role will commence in September 2026 and is ongoing, with the potential to become long-term depending on the needs of the school. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is a Level 3 qualification or above in Teaching and Supporting Learning. Experience supporting children within Key Stage 1 is desirable, and experience working with children with additional needs would be advantageous. The Role Working as part of a passionate and supportive teaching team, the desired Teaching Assistant will provide high-quality support to pupils within a Year 1 classroom. This may include delivering small-group interventions, supporting individual pupils, and assisting with whole-class learning activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, flexible, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. They should be confident supporting children with varying abilities and needs, helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Requirements To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will: Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting. Have experience supporting children within Key Stage 1, ideally within Year 1. Be confident delivering small-group interventions to support progress and attainment. Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed and supportive school team.
