Job Description
This is a varied and hands-on Accounts Assistant role within a busy finance team. You'll be involved in processing payroll for around 300 employees, which includes handling monthly adjustments like overtime, holidays, and absences, setting up new starters, and managing leavers. You'll also help with pension contributions and ensure everything is accurate before payslips go out.Beyond payroll, you'll support the wider finance function with tasks like preparing VAT returns, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and helping with month-end reporting. You'll be involved in producing balance sheet reconciliations, analysing variances against budget, and assisting with year-end audits.There's also the chance to get involved in day-to-day finance tasks such as raising invoices, processing expenses, and helping with customer statements. It's a great opportunity to build a broad understanding of finance in a supportive environment, with plenty of room to learn and grow.
The Successful Applicant
This role suits a curious and reliable Accounts Assistant who enjoys working with detail. You don't need to know everything from day one - what matters most is your willingness to learn and get stuck in. Payroll experience is helpful, but not essential. If you've worked in a transactional finance role or have a general interest in finance, that's a great starting point
