The structures we design are large steel test rigs combined with high load hydraulic actuators for testing commercial aircraft. An ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of stress analysis and design of structures; however we recognise that multi‑skilled people need to be developed and will happily accept applications from those who can demonstrate a good stress‑analysis background, with design experience to be developed in the role.
Duties
* Perform design & stress analysis of structures and machinery mainly from steel and aluminium.
* Create CAD models and engineering drawings.
* Perform stress analysis (static and fatigue).
* Create structure concepts (e.g., test rigs and moving structures) designed on time, cost and quality.
* Be responsible for design and manufacture work packages.
* Integrate electrical, measurement and data‑system installation requirements into structural design.
* Work with and be the key interface to other Airbus business units and external test customers.
* Provide detailed designs and data transfer for manufacturing.
