An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the existing Head of QA/QC in managing the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) for a fixed term of 3-6 months, at our NHS Pharmacy Production Unit, based at Wansbeck General Hospital in Ashington, Northumberland.
The Pharmacy Production Unit holds a Manufacturing License (MS) from the MHRA, allowing it to manufacture aseptically prepared products for internal and external use. The current output is 57,000 items per year, with plans to increase to over 100,000 units annually.
The unit supplies systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) across Trust oncology wards, with a demand exceeding 20,000 units per year, and also provides licensed overlabelled products across all Trust sites, with a demand of over 200,000 units annually.
The successful candidate will support the Head of QA/QC in managing the PQS, ensuring compliance with MHRA guidance and maintaining high standards in the provision of parenteral SACT, CIVAS, and overlabelled products, especially during workforce challenges.
