As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of all production processes, maintaining health and safety compliance, and the effective leadership and development of the team.
Job Description:
As Production Supervisor, you will report to the Production Manager and will assist in the leadership of a production team of 24. Duties for the Production Supervisor will include:
1. Ensure all employees use safe working practices at all times
2. Work with the manager to assess and maintain all scheduled H&S activities
3. Implement H&S improvements as appropriate
4. Identify and report all H&S issues in a timely manner
5. The Production Supervisor will increase and promote awareness of H&S within the department
6. Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
7. Ensure all new starters are fully inducted and trained for the required tasks
8. Ensure all operatives are following the appropriate SSOW
9. Deliver regular Toolbox talks to teams
10. Ensure required quality standards are maintained
11. Ensure all quality checks are carried out and recorded correctly
12. Develop, implement & maintain production KPI’s with the team
13. Regularly review production performance with team members
14. Seek and implement best practices for production processes
15. Manage department schedule and production plan
16. Effectively manage manning levels to achieve the required output
17. Collate and report department performance
18. Understand the changing needs of staff
19. Identify appropriate development and training for direct reports
20. Report all maintenance issues in a timely manner
21. Liaising with staff in other departments as required
22. Attending meetings as required
For the Production Supervisor, it would be good to see candidates with the following skills and experience:
23. Previous experience in a similar role within industrial manufacturing
24. Experience in maintaining health and safety standards
25. A strong leader and excellent people skills to supervise a team of 24 within the production team, including welders/FLT drivers
26. Adaptable and capable of supervising a varied team from apprentice level to more experienced staff
27. Resourceful and proactive approach to problem-solving
28. Ability to multitask and prioritise work
29. Proficient with Microsoft Office software
30. Experience with ERP software is desirable
31. 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics
32. Level 3 or above Supervisory qualification desirable but not essential
Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am – 1:30 pm Friday (39 hours per week)
Salary: Up to £30,000 Per Annum
