A leading UK operator in large-scale industrial and environmental operations is seeking an ETS focused professional to join the business on a 24 month fixed term contract. As they continue to deliver their environmental strategy, these newly created roles will support key operational sites across the South region.
Your new role
You will play a critical role in ensuring fullpliance with Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) requirements across a portfolio of high‑performing sites. You will act as the subject matter expert for ETS monitoring, reporting, and verification processes, ensuring all activities align with established guidance, protocols, and regulatory standards.You will work closely with on-site operational, engineering, and environmental teams to maintain accurate emissions data, support annual verification cycles, and contribute to continuous improvement inpliance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading ETS monitoring, reporting and verification activities across multiple operational sites.
2. Maintaining robust data quality, reporting accuracy and adherence to regulatory protocols.
3. Supporting the preparation of annual emissions reports and verification documentation.
4. Liaising with internal stakeholders and external verifiers to ensure timely submissions.
5. Conducting site visits to review data, support audits and providepliance guidance.
6. Ensuring all ETS activity follows established internal guidance and procedures.
7. Providing input into advanced waste sampling and wasteposition analysis (quarterly at specific sites), supporting the analysis programme delivered by third‑party partners.
What you'll need to succeed
This role requires strong ETS experience and an in‑depth understanding ofpliance within an industrial setting. You must be able to confidently follow established processes, manage data accurately, andmunicate effectively with operational teams.
8. Demonstrable experience working within the Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS or EU ETS).
9. Hands‑on experience with ETS reporting, monitoring plans, emissions calculations and verification processes.
10. Background in relevant industrial sectors such as: manufacturing or environmental roles directly linked to ETS activities
11. Strong analytical skills and confidence working with technical environmental data.
12. Willingness to travel regularly across multiple sites.
13. Excellent process discipline and attention to detail.
14. Experience in wasteposition analysis and/or advanced waste sampling activities.
