We are seeking an experienced Housekeeper for a prestigious private estate serving an UHNW family (1 adult, 3 children). This is a live-in position, with accommodation provided within the property (suitable for a single person only, no children or pets).
The family are not in permanent residence and visit approximately 4-5 times per year for 1-10 week stints (in March, June/July/Aug (longest visit), October and December). When the family is away, you will work largely independently and must be confident, proactive, and able to use your own initiative to ensure the property remains fully maintained and guest-ready at all times.
When the family is in residence, a full temp household team (Butler, Chef, Housekeepers, Nannies) is in place, which you would be responsible for helping to recruit.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain immaculate presentation of a large property Daily housekeeping duties including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and detailed care of all rooms Deep cleaning as required, including bathrooms, kitchen, ovens, and fridges Specialist care of antiques, silver, fine furnishings, and delicate objects (including French polishing) Wardrobe management and daily laundry (linen sent externally) with knowledge of high-end clothing and fabrics required Full responsibility for ordering household supplies and managing stock control (cleaning products, household goods, pantry essentials) Pantry organisation and provisioning ahead of family visits Liaise with Estate Management regarding maintenance and repairs Deep cleaning, organisation, and preparation for arrivals, have the house ready for guests during visits. Oversee and manage the housekeeping, chef and nanny team during family visits
Requirements: Proven experience in UHNW/private households/super yachts Ability to work well both independently and in a team - must be able to delegate Strong initiative and ability to manage the residence independently Discreet, highly organised, and calm under pressure Child-friendly and pet-friendly Flexible to work weekends during family visits When the family is not in residence the days of work are Monday to Friday The candidate must be happy to live in The candidate must be a driver (own car required for personal use)
Progression Opportunity: For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway to progress into a House Manager role after 12 months, subject to performance and capability.
