We have an exciting Band 5 Clinical Physiologist 12 month fixed term opportunity to help with increasing demand in our Heart and Chest department (Cardiorespiratory) which provides a wide range of cardiac and respiratory invasive and non‑invasive investigations including Echocardiography, ambulatory monitoring, pacing implants and follow‑up, left heart and right heart catheterisation, an award winning physiologist‑led ILR implantation service, Holter monitoring and ETT stress echo.
You should already hold the BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and either have or looking to gain AHCS registration and be willing to maintain CPD

Main duties of the job
Your role will be to carry out a wide range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures to a specialist level ensuring accurate outcomes and reports which are produced to a high standard., to work effectively within a wide multidisciplinary, upholding Trust values of Respectful, Excellent and Compassionate and to assist in the training of the apprentice Physiologists and Student Physiologists within the department.
You will undertake work in a timely and efficient way, meeting deadlines and keeping senior colleagues informed of changes in own technical workload and maintain clinical documentation and databases as directed, to participate in the provision of data for statistical analysis and to adhere to departmental standards of record keeping with respect to accuracy, timeliness of completion and confidentiality.
You will be expected to exercise initiative and judgement in solving problems related to own technical workload, whilst keeping others informed and recognising when there is a need to refer problems to senior colleagues and being responsive to advice given.
Your role will involve dealing with telephone queries from patients, relatives, general practitioners etc in a calm and professional manner, providing testing in the community where appropriate and any other duties as requested by Senior Chief Clinical Physiologist and Principal Physiologist.

Person Specification
Qualification
* BSc clinical physiology, BTEC, or equivalent such as Healthcare Science
* BLS or ILS
* RCCP/ BHRS/BSE/ARTP
Experience
* Proficiency in and a strong underpinning knowledge of exercise tolerance testing and resting and ambulatory ECG and BP recording and interpretation
* Attendance at professional scientific meetings and training courses
* Experience of working within a busy NHS cardiac department
* Experience of training junior members of staff
