Senior Design Engineer – Reactor Systems Permanent, Full-time £ Competitive Benefits Cranleigh, Surrey Senior Design Engineer Responsibilities: Create design requirements and identify technical risk areas. Deliver robust design solutions aligned to fundamental design criteria. Develop 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for components, assemblies, test rigs and fixtures. Take ownership of assemblies/components, driving design activity across multidisciplinary interfaces. Deliver parts, assemblies and systems from concept through to proof-of-principle. Generate innovative concepts with strong IP potential while considering freedom-to-operate. Senior Design Engineer Requirements: Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, with strong industrial experience in mechanical and/or reactor system design. Ability to perform hand calculations to support early-stage design and validate simulation outputs. High proficiency in 3D CAD tools & a strong understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T). Understanding of physical failure modes and root cause analysis techniques. Ability to perform structural FEA. Desirable: Knowledge of high-temperature chemical reactor design. Experience with chemical reaction modelling or heat exchanger design. Experience using ANSYS Workbench or manufacturing process simulation tools.
