Description Role: Service Coordinator Salary: £33,000 per annum plus £700 on call allowance Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands Contract/Hours: 37 hours per week fixed term until 31.12.2026 with a strong possibility of being made permanent We would expect a degree of flexibility around working hours to meet the demands of the service and service users, including occasional weekend or early evening work. A bit about the role The Guernsey Youth & Housing project offers support to young people, between the ages of 13- 25. In the role of Service Coordinator, you'll provide support directly to young people who have been care experienced or had historic social care involvement and provide line management support to a small team also supporting young people in this service area. You will lead a service which helps care leavers to promote motivation, resilience, and preparation for work through developing employability skills. These sessions will also use a range of evidenced based programmes and approaches. We provide welcoming and accessible services that respects and values young people as individuals we are professional, non-judgemental, and confidential encouraging young people to make informed healthy decisions. How you'll help to create brighter futures By providing a high-quality service to young people, using evidenced based programmes or approaches. Delivering interventions to young people on a 1:1 basis or in small groups which are focussed on resilience or employment. By maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues and young people/ Attending and actively participating in relevant multi-agency meetings and working closely with key partnership agencies. Being responsible for the delivery of quality services, including operational and strategic planning and deployment of resources and to work with commissioners and other external bodies. Providing direct and overall line management of staff, applying appropriate policies and procedures, also sharing knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring techniques. Let's talk about you In the role of Service Coordinator, we're ideally looking for someone who has: A recognised professional or qualification (youth work, social care) and post qualification experience. Experience of delivering wellbeing or employment interventions to children and young people. A good understanding of and experience of applying safeguarding procedures Experience of delivering training and group work with young people Experience of delivering outcome-based programmes or initiatives, completing assessments, planning and reviews to ensure positive outcomes. The ability to manage and lead a team of practitioners. Resident of Guernsey with the right to work and live in Guernsey Good to know.
