Where does this role fit in?
You’ll work closely with the HR Business Partners and wider HR and OD team to provide clear, timely advice and support to managers on a range of HR issues, including absence, grievances, disciplinaries, performance, and change. You’ll coach and guide managers to build their confidence in handling people matters. The role involves attending and minuting formal meetings, maintaining accurate HR records, and contributing to the development and review of HR policies and practices. You'll help ensure our workplace remains fair, inclusive, and aligned with our values. While your main focus will be supporting the Care side of our business, there may be times when you'll also support other areas across the Group.
What skills and experience do you need?
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience working in HR, ideally in an advisory role.
* Has supported or coached managers on people matters.
* Is confident dealing with complex HR cases (e.g. disciplinaries, grievances, TUPE, redundancies).
* Understands employment law and HR best practices.
* Is organised, detail-focused, and able to work with confidential information.
* Is a good communicator and builds strong relationships.
* Understands the importance of diversity, inclusion, and positive working cultures.
* Has a full driving licence and access to a car.
A CIPD or Employment Law qualification is helpful but not essential if you have the right experience.
What are the pay and benefits?
* This is a Full time role at 37 hours per week for a 12 month, maternity cover position. The salary is £34,678.
* Flexible working policies – this is a hybrid role. Due to the nature of the role time will spent throughout our services and the geographical location will cover South Wales. Our head offices are Newport, Cardiff and Swansea, where we have our team meet ups and your base location will be set closest to your home.
* Mileage is paid at 45p per mile
* 26 days holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays, rising to 30 days with length of service
