We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client who are a major UK Water company based in Coventry.
This is a Temporary role and will be based on site at their head office in Coventry City Centre.
Role Objective:
• Mitigating and responding to pollution events and potential events is one of the companies strategic objectives of the current AMP.
• This role will play a key part in ensuring that reported potential pollution events are identified at the earliest point in time and the correct response process is followed.
• Based on customer provided information and historical site/ asset knowledge and insight, this role will also be responsible for deescalating the priority of the field response when it is deemed necessary.
• Other customer reported issues are risk assessed for their potential pollution impacted and initiate the appropriate field response.
Key Accountabilities:
• Reactively assess all available information in a timely manner, raising either a Priority 1 rapid response job for the field, or a lower Priority job.
• Prioritise incoming reports of Waste issues based on the potential risk of it causing a Pollution, using all available systems and data to inform your decision-making process.
• Contacting customers via phone or video call to retrieve further information regarding the potential pollution issue.
• Ensure that all potential pollution reports are responded to within the defined SLAs in terms of response time.
• Responsible for the appropriate escalation or de-escalation of customers reports based on thorough and accurate desktop-based risk assessments.
• Review previously pollution response to identify improvements where possible
• Review EA contacts, using enhanced risk assessments to decide the level of company response required.
• Review customer reports of External Floodings in high risk areas to prioritise floodings at greater risk of causing a pollution
Experience: In order to succeed in this role, it is advantageous if you have:
• Knowledge and experience of sewerage/ waste networks
• Experience in a customer facing role
• Experience of working in a fast paced/ pressurised environment
• Experienced of making decisions within a pressurised environment
• Knowledge and experience of pollution incidents and their impact on the environment
Qualifications:
• Maths and English Level C GCSE or Equivalent essential
• A Level/Degree or equivalent standard (desirable)
• BTEC or higher qualification in water/ sewerage related activities (desirable)
• It would desirable to have
• Knowledge & qualifications relating to Hydraulics, Engineering or Network Management would be desirable
