Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and installation, with a focus on glass and window systems plus lightweight tile roofs. This role involves working within customers homes, ensuring that products are fitted accurately and securely according to specifications. The Window Fitter will be responsible for collaborating with other tradespeople and adhering to safety standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.
Duties
* Install windows, doors, Conservatories, tile roofs and related fixtures in residential buildings.
* Utilize hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and fitting materials.
* Perform glass installation with precision, ensuring proper sealing and caulking to prevent leaks.
* Conduct fabrication tasks as needed for custom window fittings.
* Engage in heavy lifting of materials and equipment during installation processes.
* Collaborate with carpenters for frame carpentry, trim carpentry, and door hanging tasks.
* Assist in remodeling projects that require window replacements or upgrades.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols on construction sites.
* Provide maintenance person services as required, including assembly of fixtures and cabinet installations.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
* Proven experience in construction or a related field with a focus on window fitting or glass installation.
* Familiarity with construction estimating techniques to assess project requirements effectively.
* Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes related to window fitting.
* Background in carpentry, including metal stud framing and construction painting is advantageous.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of the installation process.
