THE OPPORTUNITY
Systems Engineer
Team Swift are recruiting a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of components, systems and routings in new caravans, motor homes and holiday homes in the areas of plumbing, electrics (including 12V / auto electrical / electronic), heating and gas installations. To provide innovative and robust solutions that meet the aspirations of the company and its customers.
The ideal candidate will be a natural problem solver with the ability to recommend innovative robust engineering solutions that deliver against the strict targets of cost, weight, complexity, quality and timing. .
You will have the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment renowned for innovation, quality construction, stylish design and outstanding value The product Development department generate and maintain engineering drawings and bill of materials for every model, hundreds of drawing are created, modified and issued every week.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Deliver technical solutions to a consistently high quality, with minimum errors.
* Take ownership of designs and solutions and follow them through concept, prototyping, testing phases through to production.
* Specify components, systems and routings accurately and to a highly detailed level.
* Generate accurate specification documentation as required.
* Prepare Bills of Materials, outsourced parts specifications, internal layouts, engineering support, preparation of test specifications & the supervision of test work.
* Provide solutions that are accurate, unambiguous, on time and in line with agreed plans.
* Support the delivery of technical work, through the 'new NPI' process, gateway reviews and by supporting operational processes.
* Assist the Customer Experience Team with information and support with direct involvement and communication with customers and dealers as and when requested.
* Provide the rest of the company with expertise and technical support.
* Perform other duties as required and directed by line management
* Maintain suitable and safe levels of housekeeping at all times within the working environment, including all walkway areas / including systems housekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
* Diploma or City & Guilds qualifications relating to BS7671:2008+A2: th Edition), or equivalent modules within a qualification – covering as many as possible of Requirements for electrical installations, design and verification, inspection and testing and verification and certification.
* Knowledge of caravan & furniture construction, materials, & engineering practices in the caravan industry.
* Experience/relevant qualifications in design of ELV/Automotive, HVAC and Gas systems and installations.
* Ability to work well under pressure to achieve deadlines
* Good problem solving skills being able to analyse problems and establish the root cause providing robust solutions
* High level of accuracy in work and strong attention to detail

* Strong verbal & written communication skills
