A professional services firm based in central Bristol is looking to appoint an experienced tax professional to join its established and collaborative team.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private clients and delivering high‑quality personal tax compliance and advisory work, acting as a key point of contact for clients.
Duties will include:
* Managing a portfolio of private clients and acting as a trusted advisor
* Preparation and review of personal tax returns, primarily focused on income tax
* Advising on Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, which regularly arise within the client portfolio
* Involvement in trust and estate taxation, including compliance and advisory matters
* An understanding of how trusts and estates operate, which would be hugely helpful given the nature of the work
* Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing clear, practical advice tailored to client circumstances
* Liaising directly with clients to gather information, respond to queries and explain technical matters clearly
* Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider practice
* Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with compliance deadlines
The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit an experienced private client tax professional who enjoys a technically varied workload and regular client interaction.
* Experience working within a private client / personal tax role
* Strong income tax compliance knowledge
* Confidence dealing directly with clients
* Proficient with Microsoft Office
* Exposure to Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax
* Experience or knowledge of trust and estate taxation
* Experience advising owner‑managed individuals, families or high‑net‑worth clients
Personal Attributes
* Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in private client taxation
* Clear and confident communicator with the ability to build long‑term client relationships
* Well‑organised and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
* Keen to broaden technical knowledge, particularly across CGT, IHT and trusts
* Enjoys working as part of a close‑knit, office‑based team
* Full‑time hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
* 6‑month probationary period
