Vickerstock are working in partnership with a reputable Dungannon-based manufacturing business to assist with the appointment of Junior Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing operations and supplier management activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of goods, materials and services required to support production and customer demand, while also identifying opportunities to improve cost, quality and supplier performance. The Role Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Buyer / Procurement Coordinator will take responsibility for the end-to-end purchasing process, supplier coordination and inventory management activities across the business. Managing the day-to-day procurement of goods, raw materials, consumables, components and services in line with production schedules and customer order requirements. Coordinating supplier call-off orders and monitoring long lead-time materials to ensure continuity of supply and minimise operational disruption. Monitoring inventory levels through regular stock reviews and proactively replenishing consumables to prevent shortages and downtime. Processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately through Sage Line 50, ensuring all product codes, pricing and delivery requirements are maintained correctly. Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support quality, delivery performance and commercial objectives. Supporting supplier negotiations and assisting with the establishment of supplier agreements and commercial terms. Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives and procurement improvements without compromising quality or service levels. Monitoring spend against budget and providing updates on purchasing activity and expenditure where required. Conducting supplier performance reviews, managing supplier non-conformances and supporting corrective action activities in line with ISO 9001 standards. Producing procurement-related reports including supplier performance metrics, cost reduction initiatives, stock availability and shortage prevention measures. Maintaining awareness of market conditions, inflationary pressures and supply chain developments that may impact purchasing activity. Working closely with production, engineering, stores and other internal departments to ensure effective communication and operational alignment. Criteria Previous experience in a similar purchasing or supply chain environment. Material Planners also considered. Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering business. Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to maintain accurate purchasing records and data. Strong numerical and administrative accuracy with excellent attention to detail. Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships across suppliers and internal departments. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve supply chain or purchasing issues proactively. Desirable Criteria Previous experience using Sage Line 50 or a similar ERP/MRP system. Third level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualification.
