Commercial Print Engineer – Canon EMEA
Job Description
In this role you will carry out installation, service and repairs on Canon Commercial Print Ink Jet Printers and related pre‑ and post‑finishing equipment. You will maintain quality standards, adhere to standard call procedures, achieve a high first‑time fix rate, and minimize return rates. Your focus will be on customer satisfaction and retention, delivering an exceptional service experience. The work is varied, fast‑paced, and requires accurate time‑management skills.
Responsibilities
* Provide service in first line troubleshooting (root cause of problems) on Commercial Print ink jet devices, working to strict service level agreements.
* Achieve a high first‑time fix rate and minimize recalls with cost‑effective use of labour time and parts.
* Communicate effectively with Canon’s customers and across internal Canon departments.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the team and overall service performance, including assisting, coaching and mentoring Service Engineers.
* Ensure all post‑sale field service requirements are met.
* Provide technical escalation support for colleagues when required.
* Record all activities correctly in line with company guidelines.
* Optimize customer stock inventory and rotation, balancing against return‑to‑fit visits.
* Provide customer product instruction and training.
* Advise the customer when chargeable work is required and secure authorization before undertaking it.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance and repair practices and machine modifications.
* Signal commercial opportunities to Sales and Marketing, preferably via the provided laptop functionality.
* Comply with company policies and Health & Safety Guidelines, including product safety checks.
* Engage in self‑development training to enhance your skills.
* Work in a superior customer service environment focused on continuous improvement.
* Remain calm under pressure, prioritising tasks effectively.
* Possess NVQ or equivalent in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline.
* Have excellent organisational, proactive, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
* Be a competent Service Engineer in a production/commercial environment with a passion for fault finding and resolution within electromechanical environments.
* Understand health and safety guidelines.
* Be willing to work a shift rotation.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.

Salary: £33,089 + shift payment.
