Overview
We're looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You'll be representing our brands in our customers' homes, so you should be comfortable talking to customers and performing installations. You will fit meters, show customers how their meter and in-home display work, explain how it can help them save energy, and answer questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you’ll have access to the resources you need to deliver top-class service. You’ll be supported by an office team and backed by Octopus Energy's tech power to evolve processes and reduce admin time so you can focus on delivering great service.
Responsibilities
* Fit smart meters and show customers how to operate their meter and in-home display.
* Explain energy-saving benefits and answer customer questions about our services.
* Represent Octopus Energy Services in customers’ homes and maintain safety and customer excellence standards.
* Collaborate with an office team to achieve shared performance goals.
* Be prepared for rotating call-out schedules where applicable and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
* MOCoPA – held within the last 3 years with evidence available.
* Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent).
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
Compensation and Benefits
* Salary: £36,500 starting, with potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE (including bonus and on-call).
* £2,500 annual performance bonus and fit bonuses.

* Additional earnings: £15 for every asset installed beyond the sixth; rotating on-call schedule with £250 retainer (door-to-door pay when called out); weekend rates: £50 for attending; £70 for a dual-fuel installation; £35 for a single-fuel installation; technical aborts paid at half rate.

The recruitment process includes a practical trade test, followed by a short interview with an Area Manager.
