About the Job Reporting to the senior finance team, the Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the companys credit control processes and assisting with general accounts duties, including: Key Responsibilities Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account records Monitoring outstanding invoices and chasing overdue payments in line with agreed credit terms Sending reminders, statements, and following up with customers via phone, email, and correspondence Resolving customer disputes and queries, negotiating payment plans to recover outstanding debt Accurately posting financial transactions including invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses Reconciling customer accounts, supplier accounts, credit cards, and staff expenses Supporting month-end procedures and preparing supporting schedules and reports Assisting with VAT returns, payroll support, and compliance tasks Providing administrative support including filing, reporting, and responding to internal queries Preparing ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve queries Supporting senior finance staff with continuous improvement and finance projects Previous Experience Experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Clerk, or similar finance role Familiarity with accounting principles, accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliation Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage or similar) Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis Strong planning, organisational, and numerical skills with attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams Experience in a fast-paced finance or technical environment is desirable For further information on this opportunity or to take the next step in your career, contact Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.
