About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate who is passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or a career in education.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students learning across a range of subjects, working closely with teachers and the wider support team to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and assist students with their learning in class.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a calm, focused learning environment.
Contribute to lesson planning, preparation of learning materials, and classroom organisation.
Assist with administrative tasks related to teaching and learning as required.
Support students academic, emotional, and social development.
Work collaboratively with the SEN and pastoral teams to support pupils with additional needs.
About You
I am a recent graduate (any discipline) with a strong interest in education.
I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
I am reliable, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
I have the ability to manage my time effectively and follow teacher direction confidently.
I can commit to a full-time position during school hours, Monday to Friday.
I hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
