The Opportunity
Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Equipment Engineer to provide professional, high-quality mechanical engineering support to the nuclear project on behalf of the Engineering Delivery Function and to ensure that the proposed design complies with UK regulations and context.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
1. Perform technical review and acceptance of design documentation provided by the R&D and suppliers.
2. Assist the Project Manager in completing tasks to support the design subprocesses.
3. Ensure unresolved technical issues are addressed and adequately resolved.
4. Challenge design decisions to ensure engineering and design align with the project strategy.
5. Work effectively with and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
6. Support the Design Authority when communicating with regulators on design matters.
7. Assist in coordinating support from other external organizations.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* Degree in a relevant science or engineering subject.
* Chartered Engineer status preferred.
* Experience within the Nuclear Industry preferred.
* Knowledge of design processes and activities related to the Nuclear Industry.
* Good project management and organizational skills.
* Understanding of quality requirements and practices.
* Knowledge of budget and schedule management.
* Overall project commercial awareness.
It’s great if you also have the following
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
* Good communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
