Ysgol Gyfun Y Strade is a forward thinking, ambitious, and highly respected Welsh medium secondary school at the heart of the Llanelli community. With almost 1,300 learners (estimated to reach 1,400 by September 2027) aged 11-18 and a thriving Sixth Form, the school has long played a central role in promoting high‑quality Welsh‑medium education and contributing to the cultural life of the area.

We are seeking an inspirational, committed, and dynamic Headteacher who can build on the school's strong foundations and lead it confidently into the future.

Ysgol Gyfun Y Strade prides itself on its excellent academic and vocational standards, rich co‑curricular opportunities, and a warm, holistic and inclusive ethos grounded in wellbeing, collaboration, and respect. The school is a sector leading contributor to the development and implementation of the Curriculum for Wales and offers learners exceptional opportunities to thrive, whether on the eisteddfod stage, in sporting competitions, through the performing arts, or in community engagement projects.


The Governing Body is seeking a Headteacher who:

* is an excellent communicator in both Welsh and English
