Role Overview
The Sales Consultant will be responsible for generating new business alongside the management of a portfolio of accounts. You will have overall responsibility for strategic solution positioning, revenue and service delivery across this portfolio, in conjunction with Level 1 Support and Global Product Specialists. The ideal candidate will be comfortable influencing senior external stakeholders, nurturing new relationships and maintaining/growing existing relationships, possess strong sales skills, a track record of using data and tools to drive business growth, and be comfortable owning their own diary.
Your Responsibilities
* Operate the Content Syndication function as a profit centre delivering an agreed EBITDA position annually across all services.
* Deliver a multi‑million dollar annual operating budget for revenue and expenses (including any CapEx requests) in line with the wider business process.
* Execute the Content Syndication strategy and solutions in conjunction with the Head of Content Syndication and key stakeholders.
* Translate business and functional strategies into specific business plans (OGSM – Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) to execute against clients.
* Drive a client‑centric approach to all solution offerings, focusing on simplicity and ease for clients.
* Promote a culture of innovation and automation across delivered solutions, emphasizing best practices and best‑in‑class delivery.
* Work effectively within the team and across functional areas (Commercial, Operations, Technology, Business Development, Finance/HR) to ensure smooth operation of the Nielsen Brandbank business.
* Ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with all relevant business policies (NielsenIQ & Nielsen Brandbank).
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong sales background with a proven track record of managing revenue targets and consistently overachieving against personal targets and objectives.
* Experience in key account management, strategic sales planning and implementation, including pipeline management.
* Ability to present at Board level and below, controlling meetings to achieve desired outcomes and understanding solution details.
* Capability to build relationships with customers of all sizes and types to fully understand their objectives and content solutions.
* Understanding of content syndication and digital product content (preferably shopper content) and its application across businesses.
* Basic technical understanding of SQL & relational database concepts, REST/JSON, programming languages (preferably C# or Ruby), and XML‑based web service protocols (SOAP and WSDL).
* Understanding of shopper content and/or the CPG/FMCG industry and related technologies.
* Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems and Master Data Management (MDM) systems.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (other languages a bonus).
* Degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience.
