Key Responsibilities
* Run and manage the lithotripsy service within the Urology Unit at ESNEFT Colchester site.
* Perform and provide specialist expertise and guidance regarding Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) procedures to treat kidney and ureteric stones.
* Provide high‑quality, efficient and patient‑centred care whilst managing patient pathways and coordinating with key stakeholders across our multi‑professional teams.
* Participate in continuous improvement of the service.
* Perform clinical work within established quality standards of practice for imaging and urology (including NICE, BAUS & NMC) and ionising radiation safety legislation (IRMER).
* Facilitate other urology services when lithotripsy service is not available, including flexible cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, trial without catheter clinic, self‑intermittent dilatation/catheterisation clinics, stent on string removal, nephrostomy removal and care, dissolution/inversion therapy for stone patients.
