Contract Type: Full time – Permanent, 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Annual salary: up to £44,418.43 per annum plus company vehicle and fuel card
About The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Gas Supervisor to join our team in Ilford, delivering high-quality gas servicing, repairs, and installations across our clients’ housing stock. Your role will be vital in ensuring that all gas appliances and systems are safe, compliant, and fit for continued use. You will supervise and manage day-to-day the gas service program, repair works and/or breakdowns/installations as required, leading a team of Gas Operatives and Sub Contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and control the work and drive the Health & Safety culture within both the team assigned and the gas team.
* Monitor progress and completion of works from the Operatives and Subcontractors through the MCM system to achieve the KPI requirements of the Client.
* Assist the team to provide a comprehensive gas maintenance and installation service within domestic premises, carrying out work in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and departmental procedures. Ensure the applicant is gas qualified with current Domestic ACS certification or equivalent and maintain all paperwork and electronic data records for audit, invoicing, quality and H&S.
* Work with other supervisors and operational gas team members to uplift knowledge and skills of the team.
* Monitor engineers' stock and collection of materials to meet works orders, in accordance with purchasing and van stock control procedures.
* Carry out informal and formal meetings and training sessions to maintain up-to-date business and job knowledge, including toolbox talks, 1:1s, probation reviews, etc.
* Participate in call-out cover as required to ensure contract compliance and service user satisfaction for emergency repairs.
Key Criteria
* Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance
* Hold valid ACS certification (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1)
* Line management experience
* Good understanding of electrical safe isolation and basic wiring principles
* Knowledge of current gas safety legislation and compliance standards
* Experience in social housing or local authority environments (preferred)
* Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
* Flexible and willing to travel across properties
* Full UK driving licence
