The Property
PREMIER SUITES Edinburgh Fountain Court boasts a prime location in Edinburgh’s West End, near Haymarket and the Financial District. Only a twenty-minute walk to Princes Street and easily accessible by public transport. All apartments include one or two-bedroom units and all come with a fully fitted kitchen, living room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Each of the fully equipped kitchens includes a combi-oven, microwave, hob, fridge with icebox, laundry facilities and coffee machine. Our serviced apartments also include a contemporary living area with a flat-screen TV.
The Role
This is a full time position working 5 over 7 nights from 11pm to 7am including some weekend shifts.
The Night Porter will ensure that the property operates smoothly and safely during the night shift and promote a positive image of PREMIER Suites to all guests and colleagues by maintaining high standards at all times. You will welcome late arrivals and deal with customer requests and queries and take responsibility for security and health & safety of all guest and colleagues during your shift.
About The Role
Whats involved in the role?
* Greeting guests in a warm, friendly manner.
* Checking in and out guests professionally.
* Answering calls in a friendly, professional manner, transferring calls to correct extensions and dealing with requests.
* Taking reservations with care, noting any special requests.
* Informing the guests about all property facilities and those locally available to enhance their stay.
* Ensuring that billing is completed correctly.
* Dealing with any guest feedback, queries and suggestions quickly and efficiently.
* Ensuring the property is secure and all health and safety practises are in place including security and firewalks.
Is this role for you? Here are the key criteria we are looking out for:
For this role it is important that you have at least one year of experience as a receptionist or night porter ideally in a hotel or serviced apartments.
Experience with the Opera system would be ideal, but isn't 100% essential as training can be provided.
Previous experience and knowledge of fire and health & safety procedures desirable.
Being fluent in English is essential for this role.
A warm and friendly disposition is very important.

Desired Criteria
* Previous reception experience in a hotel or serviced apartment
* Experience of using Opera or a similiar PMS.
