Job Title: Finance Business Partner
Salary/Grade: £48,000 - £58,000 Depending upon Experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Peterborough, UK
Closing Date: 29th August 2025

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary

You will use innovative data analysis techniques to enhance business insights, drive the cost strategy and consolidate the operating costs for a global organisation.
Additional Info
* 37 hours per week
* This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

What You Will Do
* Analyse and challenge operating costs and financial performance
* Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards
* Consolidate operating costs for the business unit
* Oversee annual business plan and quarterly forecasts
* Continuous improvement of reporting and financial processes
* Lead by example in professional behaviors and values
What You Have
* Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
* Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
* Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
* Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
* Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work with diverse teams across Finance and Global Operations.
* Comfortable presenting to senior leaders of the business.
Ideally, you will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
* Experienced Finance Business Partner
* Fully Qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
* High-level Excel and systems literacy
* Experience in the manufacturing industry is desirable but not essential
