Overview

Join the Commissioning Officer role at Cornwall Council. The Resettlement Service is looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Commissioning Officer to join our dynamic team, making a real difference in the lives of refugees and people seeking asylum.


Responsibilities

* Lead commissioning and contract management activities that improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals.
* Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders—from grassroots organisations to statutory bodies—to co-create sustainable services.
* Balance strategic planning with hands-on community engagement.
* Ensure government funding is used effectively and ethically in a complex and evolving landscape.
* This is a public/customer-facing role with the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers.
* This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.


Working Pattern

Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday. Hybrid working home and office based. Flexibility required to support work within the community, which may occasionally involve some out of hours work during community activities.

* Can manage budgets and interpret financial data.
* Is curious, analytical, and solutions-focused.
* Holds a qualification in commissioning and contract management.
