Finance Manager – Technical (Financial) – West Midlands
Contract: Initial 3-month contract with a view to being extended
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday.
Spencer Clarke Group is working in partnership with a local authority in the West Midlands to recruit a Finance Manager.
Role Brief:
To be a key member of the Finance team with comprehensive knowledge of technical accounting, Treasury, Collection Fund, the Balance Sheet, and VAT for the Council.
Responsibilities:
* To be the Council’s expert on the treasury function, ensuring full legislative compliance.
* To advise on resource levels for financing capital and revenue expenditure and optimize available resources.
* To act as the finance lead on the Collection Fund.
* To oversee Treasury Management practices, policies, and strategies, including reporting to relevant Committees.
What we’re looking for:
* Knowledge of Local Government Finance issues.
* Solution-focused approach, especially regarding technical finance issues.
