Inclusion Officer - Virtual School
Job description

This is a fantasticfixed term opportunity (2 years) for the right candidate to join our team!
Our Purpose
Dueto theexpansion of our service, we are seeking a passionate, dedicated individual to encourage and support partners in providing the best possible educational opportunities and experience for the valuable children who belong to our virtual school community.
What will your day look like?
The Virtual School advocates for children who are currently (or have previously been) supported by a social worker. This includes children who are cared for by North East Lincolnshire Council- wherever they may live or attend school, children who are living in Kinship care arrangements, and children who have previously been in care.
Our statutory duty is to improve educational outcomes by working collaboratively with our children, carers, schools, colleges and social care colleagues to create and review ambitious Personal Education Plans (PEPs) that focus on;
attending school on a full-time basis
receiving the best possible learning opportunities from mainstream education or, as appropriate to individual needs, specialist or alternative provision
maintaining at least expected rates of progress relative to their starting points
narrowing attainment gaps
Working arrangements
This is a blended role. There is an expectation that you visit education settings to chair PEP reviews, attend training and team meetings in local authority buildings, and a healthy balance of home working.
Who are we looking for?
You will be confident, organised and experienced in working alongside children and their families within schools and/or colleges. You will be a confident communicator, organised and efficient. Knowledge and practical experience of special educational needs and safeguarding would be highly regarded.

Closing date : Wednesday 22 October 2025 Interview date: Tuesday 28 October 2025
Start date : In line with our Day One: NEL Induction Process, we would like to aim to have the successful candidate in post by 5th January 2026.
All start dates will be dependent on your notice period and relevant pre-employment clearances being completed.
