Assistant Finance Manager - AVFC Warehouse, Birmingham | Full-Time / Permanent

Overall, Purpose of the Role
The candidate will business partner the General Manager and the Heads of Department for the entirety of the Warehouse operation. The role involves high-profile ownership, developing collaboration with client side and internal stakeholders, continually improving service levels, cost‑effectiveness, and adding value to commercial activities while managing contract mobilisation.
Assistant Finance Manager – The Role
Purpose: Commercial Support
* Effective business partnering with onsite operations, managing financial risks and opportunities while supporting ops in delivering budgeted sales, PBIT and margin and agreed returns for clients.
* Deliver pro‑active financial analysis with findings and recommendations to support decision‑making, utilizing dashboards from E15 Insights.
* Take ownership of financial controls and processes – weekly flash, budget process, review of commercial initiatives, support of capex appraisals, and optimisation of working capital.
PERFORMANCE
* Deliver analysis of key business reporting such as dashboards, month‑end reports, business reviews, client reports, budgets, flash forecasts and ad‑hoc analysis discussed at reviews.
* Monitor initiative delivery plans, challenge operational teams and highlight risks to senior stakeholders.
* Key metrics: GP %, labour to sales ratio and unit margin %.
* Use E15 insights dashboards and champion them within the business.
* Monitor labour %, pricing and inflation impacts on consumers and hospitality charges.
* Assist in training finance/operational teams on reporting and KPIs.
* Populate the monthly balance sheet and highlight key risks and opportunities.
* Oversee budgeting and forecasting process with the Venue GM and operational team.
* Attend client finance meetings as required.
* Participate in future planning and strategic decision‑making.
PEOPLE: Relationship Management
* Work effectively as part of a finance and operational team.
* Build relationships with key finance stakeholders.
* Support learning for finance personnel and share best practice.
What we're looking for
* Experience partnering non‑finance professionals to support financial information delivery.
* Qualified accountant or finalist (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with at least two years in a financial role.
* Experience in management accounting, including adjustments and commercial reporting.
* Analytical with high attention to detail.
* Proficient in Excel macors & VBA.
* Experience of SAP and E15 / Power BI for analysis and reporting.
* Strong commercial acumen.
