The Renewable Technology Surveyor is responsible for carrying out on‑site surveys to assess the suitability of commercial properties for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role focuses on gathering accurate information, identifying any issues that may impact installation, and providing clear documentation to support the design and delivery process. It requires excellent organisational skills, effective communication with clients and the internal team, and the ability to work independently, often travelling and staying away from home 2–3 nights per week. The position is performed in line with Nuvolt Ltd culture, ethos, and corporate procedures.
Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed surveys at commercial properties to assess suitability for solar PV installations and renewable technology systems.
* Record and report on existing electrical systems, noting any potential issues that could affect installation.
* Capture clear photos and detailed notes for the design & installation team, ensuring comprehensive and accurate reports.
* Liaise with clients onsite, explaining the survey process and answering questions.
* Produce professional reports and assist in preparing quotations and scopes of work where required.
* Work flexibly across multiple regions, with the expectation of staying away from home 2–3 times per week depending on project locations.
* Understand specifications and drawings.
* Have an understanding of and be able to contribute to Total Risk Management.
* Ability to survey and report on existing installations.
* Have an understanding of current Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative Requirements.
* Ability to check drawings for accuracy and buildability.
* Undertake site and works visits as required by the execution of duties.
* Read, understand, and implement the Nuvolt Culture documents.
* Read, understand, and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described within the Safety Management System documents.
Qualifications
* A commitment to independently research and develop any required technical knowledge.
* Full UK driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in buildings / surveying combined with good M&E technical knowledge.
* Proven understanding of electrical and renewable technology and the suitability on commercial buildings.
