School Nurse Immunisation Co Ordinator

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative practitioner with experience of immunisations for a newly developed role of band 6 Immunisation coordinator for School Nursing, for an initial one year fixed contract.
The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient delivery of school aged immunisation programmes in line with Healthy Child Wales Part 2, be visible and work in line with the health board values and behaviours to coordinate immunisation staff and provide clinical and hands on support where required.
The role will work in partnership with the band 7 Immunisation team leader to provide equitable access to immunisations for all children and young people across the health board, whilst ensuring the delivery of a quality assured immunisation service in line with local governance structures and national standards.
This role is a fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to funding. If you are interested in applying for it as a secondment, please obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.
Main duties of the job
* Support with the planning, delivery and evaluation of school aged immunisations in line with HCWP2.
* Ensure the value-based day to day coordination of staff and resources using a one team approach.
* Provide clinical and practical support to the immunisation team, which includes the preparation, coordination of immunisation sessions and immunising of children and young people.
* Support with training and development of staff in line with competency frameworks.
* Contribute to service improvement, audit and quality assurance.
Person Specification
Qualifications / Knowledge
* BSc in community health studies - Specialist community public health (school nurse)
* Demonstrates enhanced knowledge of information related to the school aged immunisation programme
* Post graduate level study or equivalent & relevant experience, skills and knowledge
* Level 3 safeguarding Training
* Participation in development and implementation of clinical policies
* Participation in service development and quality assurance
* Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B1) are Desirable for this Role.
