Laboratory Technician West Byfleet | Full-time | 08:15 – 16:30 | Salary: £28k - £30k We're working with a growing scientific organisation to find a Laboratory Technician to join their innovative new lab in West Byfleet. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in wet chemistry and routine testing, looking to be part of a team developing high-quality reference materials in a regulated environment. You’ll play a key role in day-to-day lab operations and help maintain compliance with ISO standards, all while contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking team. About the Role This is a full-time, on-site position focused on supporting lab production processes, testing and verifying materials, and maintaining lab standards. The role is ideal for someone who’s methodical, detail-oriented, and confident with wet chemistry techniques and routine analytical procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory testing and assist in reference material production Operate within ISO 17025 & 17034 frameworks and adhere to established procedures Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly equipment and lab checks Maintain a clean, well-organised laboratory environment Manage internal waste transfers and documentation Contribute to lab housekeeping and continuous improvement efforts What We’re Looking For Experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in wet chemistry Confident performing routine testing with accuracy and consistency Familiarity with analytical instrumentation (e.g., titrators, pH meters) Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel Degree in Chemistry or a related science is preferred but not essential A-levels in Chemistry, Biology or Physics (or equivalent) required What’s on Offer Location: West Byfleet Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:15 – 16:30 Salary: Competitive, based on experience Training: Internal training on ISO 17034, Good Laboratory Practice, and CRM production Development: Be part of a modern, growing lab with a focus on innovation
