Overview
We are looking for a proactive individual to join our busy trading team at Slimbridge Wetland Centre. The successful applicant will provide a warm and informative welcome to all our visitors and will work to maximise sales and membership recruitment. This 5‑hour post, covering weekend work, mainly in our retail shop area, where you will be serving both members and non‑member visitors, while keeping the shop fully stocked and offering assistance on optics sales. Full optics training will be provided. The role is referred to internally as Trading Assistant.
Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional customer service.
* Generate sales and membership recruitment.
* Maximise profits that support conservation work.
* Manage and respond to customer feedback appropriately.
* Ensure shop is fully stocked and presentable.
* Provide assistance on optics sales.
* Handle cash accurately and responsibly.
Qualifications
* Experience in a trading/commercial environment.
* Experience working in a team.
* Experience with an EPOS till system (training will be provided).
* Experience with a Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
* Experience handling cash.
* Excellent customer service skills.
